I believe everyone deserves access to fresh, chemical free kai that has been grown in nutrient dense soil & full of life!

We all share a natural connection between ourselves, the food we eat, and the living soil beneath our feet.

Connecting back to our nature through growing food, healing our soil and of course eating really good homegrown food!

  • Macrocarpa - 600mm Tall

    These gardens are built from naturally rot resistant timber and raised to a height that is perfect to look after your back and knees.

    Kickboard gardens

    Great for edging a property or creating a growing space for fruit trees or even growing vegetables!

    3-Bay Compost Station

    Our compost stations are built with 1m bays which make it perfect for both hot and cold composting.

    Patio Planter - 850mm Tall

    This style garden bed has been designed to sit on top of concrete or a driveway where the soil cannot reach the ground. This style has a raised floor.

    Retained bank with steps

    Some areas need some love and this old bank needed a new edge. Once retained, the top can be planted out.

    Rolled Steel Gardens

    Our rolled steel gardens are a cost effective and abundant way of growing food and last a very long time!

    Redwood - 600mm Tall

    When our gardens are longer than 2.5m, I always reinforce and brace the centers by adding center posts and connecting the two with bracing.

    Reclaimed Sleeper Gardens

    These beautiful, reclaimed sleeper gardens are perfect for ornamentals although contain creosote which is not ideal for growing food.

    Redwood Corner Garden

    Corner gardens are a great way to turn a ‘dead’ space into a living corner that gets visited regularly. Our gardens can be built at any angle.

    Japanese Cedar - 600mm Tall

    Japanese Cedar, Redwood and Macrocarpa all have naturally occurring oils that help preserve timber over time. Gardens areknown to last 8-10 years, or more!

    Wicking Beds

    Wicking beds are built with a water reservoir that that sits at the bottom of the garden bed. This allows plants to wick the water up from their roots encouraging root growth and preventing drying out.

  • Timed Irrigation Systems

    With a timed irrigation system, you don’t have to worry about leaving the garden for a few days over summer, or if you cannot get out there to hand water. The timed irrigation is perfect!

In the community

  • Ngati Kahu Kai Resilience Project – Food Forest

    This Kai Resilience Project has created an abundant space on the whenua, featuring eight raised māra kai (garden beds) and a syntropic food forest with rongoā Māori native trees, all planted by the community.

  • Te Puna School Young Growers Project - Phase 1

    With a freshly renovated classroom to kitchen, a zone 1 garden was needed to grow an abundance of vegetables and herbs. This is just the start of a much larger project here - Stay tuned for phase 2.

  • Ngati Kahu Kai Resilience Project - Māra Kai

    What was once an empty piece of land has now been transformed into an abundant māra kai for the community to grow and share food. The space includes four tall raised garden beds, four lower raised garden beds, and a no dig kūmara patch. It also provides a place for learning, workshops, and connecting with the whenua.

  • Rainwater Irrigation at Tahatai Coast School

    With a newly built seedling house, five raised garden beds, and a rainwater tank on site, we were asked to install irrigation for the existing garden beds and create a sprinkler system for the seedling house.
